Lenny & Lucy

Many of you probably know A Sick Day for Amos McGee, but do you know about this gem, Lenny & Lucy, from the same power couple, Philip and Erin Stead?

In this one, Philip writes and Erin illustrates. We relate to this story because we know a thing or two about moving to live amongst the trees.

If you’ve ever had to move with or without a child, you know that it can make anyone a little nervous. Will you make friends? Will you be safe in this new unknown place? Will you be able to sleep or will you be too worried about what lies beyond the bridge to your house?

We love this story that centers around a sweet boy, who worries and can’t sleep, but figures out how to make sure another is not lonely, while he himself is lonely. That takes some impressive maturity and we love the one who comes along to make sure he doesn’t stay lonely.

Come to the woods with us as we re-read this loveable tale of friendship.
